How Google is Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month 2024

Google is celebrating Pride Month 2024 under the theme “Finding Pride” with a series of initiatives and collaborations aimed at uplifting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

Preserving LGBTQ+ History

Google continues its long-standing partnership with Pride Live to preserve LGBTQ+ history. Digital Pride Celebrations

Google is adding Pride-themed AR effects to Google Meet, personalized Chrome backgrounds created by LGBTQ+ artists, and a Flag Parade surprise on Google Search when users look up “Pride Month” or “Pride Parade.”

Supporting LGBTQ+ Businesses

Google Maps and Search will highlight LGBTQ+-friendly businesses with specific attributes like “LGBTQ-friendly,” “Transgender Safe Space,” and “LGBTQ+ owned.” Business owners can easily add these attributes through their Google My Business account.

Honoring LGBTQ+ Art and Culture

Google Arts & Culture is expanding its projects to honor LGBTQ+ history, such as the “Ballroom in Focus” hub and the “Queer Eye on Art History” project. These initiatives celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in art and fashion.
